Dear Parents:
We will be having a baseball camp on the dates of July 20th and 22nd. Tuesday, July 20th will be for players ages 9-12. Thursday, July 22nd will be for players ages 13-19. Both camp days will start at 12:00 and end at 5:00. Players need to be at the Tri-County baseball field 30 min prior to starting time. At that time there will be a table set up where they will need to sign in and pay the camp fee of 50 dollars. Players will be graded and evaluated throughout the day and given a sheet at the end of the day to show what skills they need to be working on in the off season. They will need to bring their own equipment, and plenty of fluids to stay hydrated. There will be a few college coaches and players at the camp to make sure it is run properly. After the camp has finished on Thursday the 22nd at 6:00 we will have a hit-a-thon fundraiser and cook-out for the Tri-County baseball and softball teams. This is mandatory for all baseball players 9-12 grade, and optional for junior high students. A sheet will be given to the student athletes to further explain the details of this fundraiser. If you have any questions you can contact Corey Stevens by phone at 601-668-0793 or by e-mail to Steven05@mc.edu.
These are some things we will be concentrating on during the camp:
- Timed 60 yard sprints
- Proper base-running techniques and skills
- Infield mechanics and fundamentals
- Outfield mechanics and fundamentals
- Proper pitching mechanics
- Hitting skills and mechanics
- Some sort of fun game at the end
A new era has begun in baseball here at Tri-County and we need your support and attendance to be a successful program.
Sincerely,
Corey Stevens
