Dear Patrons,

We are excited to say that the Tri County Academy Memorial Field House is finally underway!

We have been very blessed already with the money that has been given to this project but it is going to take a lot more.  This facility is long overdue and will benefit both girls and boys.  The Booster Club has planned a fundraiser that will be fun for the entire family, “Field House Rock”.  Please join us by making this a huge success.  We have not had a fundraiser in several years, so our goal is to make this a fun Spring Carnival for our students while we raise as much money as we can!  This event will be held on the football field, April 18th, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Each class will be responsible for working a specific booth.  Your Room Mother will contact you about your time to work.

Each student will be responsible for:

·        Selling Raffle Tickets on a rifle that has been donated (details to follow on ticket sales)

·        Selling Crawfish Boil meal tickets

·        Bringing a cake for the Cake Walk

·        Bringing an item for the Country Store

·        Bringing a 12 pack of canned drinks

You may start bringing your drinks now so you do not have it all at one time.  The rifle Raffle Tickets will be sent out in a few weeks.  We will offer incentives to the students and teachers to encourage sales.  The meal tickets will not go out until one week before the event and of course your cake for the cake walk will not be needed before Thursday, April 16th.  Please be creative on your Country Store items.  Some examples are homemade cakes, pies, jelly, individually wrapped bread, artwork, crafts and individually wrapped rice crispy treats, brownies or cookies.

We will be having a Live and Silent Auction so we welcome any donated items.

Thank you for all of your help and hard work.  This is a lot of information to absorb so please do not hesitate to ask any questions.

Dear Friends and Patrons:

Those of you who were able to attend the back to school Open House heard our new Head Master, Mark Johnson, talk about the great strides that have been taken and the financial expenditures that have been made on behalf of our children’s present and future education.  In January of this year, the Board, Mr. Johnson and staff began to plan and chart a course designed to elevate every aspect of Tri County Academy to the next level. To date, this endeavor has brought us enhancements in the academic curriculum and technology, along with enhancements to the physical plant which are readily apparent.

Following the Open House, the Board met in Executive Session and agreed to take another bold step designed to help us elevate to that next level.  Enclosed you will find the floor plan of the Tri County Academy Memorial Field House. You may view both the floor plan and artist’s rendering of the facility by logging onto Tri County’s web page and clicking the Athletic Foundation’s link.  The Board voted unanimously to provide funding in the amount of $30,000.00, to match the Athletic Foundation’s $35,000.00.  This combination of funds will allow for the completion of Phase I of the field house.  Phase I will encompass continuation of the site preparation, and will culminate with the finished slab to include roughed in plumbing for the facility.  Once Phase I is completed and as additional funding becomes available, we will move on to Phase II of the project.

Please be assured that not one cent of the matching funds authorized by the Board was taken, withheld or diverted from any academic program offered to or needed by our children to further their education.  Up to this point in time, all of the architectural plans, artist’s renderings, site work, and surveying have been accomplished at no cost to the school.

I cannot explain every aspect of the planned construction and the completed project in the space of this letter.  Every effort will be made to keep you informed as we move through this project and rest assured that the time and talents of each and every Patron of Tri County Academy will be asked for and needed.

The whistle is blowing and the train is leaving.  There is a seat for you, get on board and ride with us.

                                                                                    Sincerely,

                                                                                    Jim Giddy, Chairman

                                                                                    Board of Directors
